With Spring holidays almost upon us, we’re getting ready to open the farm gates for you to enjoy an adventure on our family farm. Choose from the intimate early morning milking and feeding experience, or the casual picnic and market day to enjoy with family and friends. Either way, you’ll get to enjoy the best of life on the farm. Feed our menagerie of farm animals – mischievous goats & sheep, pigs, calves, chickens & ducks – chill out in the picnic paddock or down by the river, take a wander through the market and flower gardens, and try our range of flavours in the Jersey Girl ice cream range. Stock up on farm fresh goodness from the Farm Larder on your way out. We’ll be busy in the meantime making butter and creamery goodies, growing veg, and building our stock of milk fed pork and rose veal. Be sure to have your esky ready for the trip home!
Both events will have very limited numbers and bookings are essential. We look forward to seeing you on the farm very soon!
Saturday September 28th – Spring Picnic Market Day on the Farm – 10am to 2pm
Glorious Spring weather is upon us and we’re throwing open the farm gates. Join us for a picnic in the paddock, farm walk, animal feeding, and fresh produce to fill your esky from right here on our family farm.
You’re welcome to bring your swimmers and relax in the cool waters of the Albert River, or perhaps dip your toes in while you enjoy your BYO picnic at the water’s edge. We won’t have any lunch items on offer so please remember to BYO picnic.
Grab your ‘bottomless’ bucket of animal feed and head off on your own adventure to meet and feed our menagerie. Farmer Dave will be on hand to answer any questions you might have, and to guide the ever popular pumpkin smashing tour of course. Esme and Francine have mischievous little kids racing around causing all sorts of mayhem. The piglets have just been weaned and are loving playing together in the paddock. We’ve got baby guinea pigs – much to our surprise… And the vealer calves are just adorable, and super friendly! Of course the ducks and chooks will be enthusiastic as always, and little Flynnie will once again be our concierge making his way to and from the parking paddock welcoming our visitors.
Our Jersey Girl gourmet ice creams are just the thing for a warm Spring day (well, any day…), and the Farm Larder will be stocked with all our farm deliciousness for you take home!
Feel free to wander through Harry’s market garden and the flower garden. It’s looking fabulous with Spring planting well and truly on the go. You’ll find plenty of his heirloom organic produce available from the Farm Larder.
Our friends at Barney Creek Vineyard will be joining us again with their amazing range of wines available on the day. Purchase by the glass, or a bottle to share. And, we’ll have coffee and iced tea for you too! A select few local artisans and producers will offer their wares with market stalls on the day.
We’re enjoying the smaller numbers for events so numbers will be limited again with this event. Bookings essential. Closed in footwear essential. No pets allowed.
Saturday September 21st – Friends of the Farm – 7.30am to 11am
Join our family for a morning on the farm. This bespoke event offers a very intimate farm experience starting with the morning milking with our Jersey girls. With this very small group, we’re pleased to be able to offer a very hands-on morning at the dairy including getting amongst it to milk the herd. You’ll have worked up an appetite so don’t forget to bring some snacks to enjoy in the picnic paddock before we head off on a market garden adventure and the morning feeding rounds. We’ll finish off with a visit to the Farm Larder where you can stock up on produce fresh from our farm – everything you spent the morning learning all about. This is a farm market day with a difference!
Our Friends of the Farm adventure is all about sharing our farm with you and your family in a very personal way – keeping numbers very small so we can all enjoy the experience!
We’ll wander the market gardens with Harry and learn about his passion for growing heirloom vegetables organically with a focus on regenerative practices. There’s so much happening in the vegetable paddocks with Spring planting already on the go. Harry can pick your order fresh so it’s ready to collect from the Farm Larder on your way home.
The morning feeding rounds are always fun! We’ll feed the chooks & ducks and collect the eggs, visit the mischievous goats & sheep, feed the skim milk to the noisy pigs (and smash pumpkins for them too!), and bottle feed the calves. Feel free to head down the river for a relax after the morning rounds or just chill out in the picnic paddock. Enjoy your morning on our family farm!
Learn how we grow fresh produce here on our family farm before stocking up at the Farm Larder with this authentic paddock to plate market experience.
Bookings essential – very limited numbers. Closed in footwear essential. No pets allowed.
